Hoops 4 Peace is a three day 3-on-3 basketball tournament that will be held at Concord Mills Mall in Concord, NC. The event is expected to bring six thousand people to the area from Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Samaritan’s Feet Hoops 4 Peace Tournament is a high-spirited weekend of slamming and jamming 3-on-3 basketball competitions, which includes a music festival and family entertainment atmosphere. The festival’s mission is to use competitive sports as a platform to reach and develop the next generation of community and business leaders with a heart to serve. The Hoops 4 Peace Tournament will reach athletically minded people, with a message of hope.

Recreational, church, competitive, elite and youth teams will all compete for a chance to play in the World Hoops 4 Peace Championships, which will take place in the Caribbean in 2010. Winning teams from their respective divisions will play in a three day tournament. Then they will participate in a Samaritan’s Feet Shoe of Hope humanitarian project, where shoes will be distributed to impoverished children over a four day period. Each team that signs up to play in the tournament will pay a $150.00 entry fee. Proceeds will be used to help purchase and ship shoes to impoverished areas of the world. The event has the potential to create an economic impact of $1 million in the area. The aim of Samaritan’s Feet for the event is to use its platform to educate people. It is also to inspire people, while engaging the community in local outreach. As a result, a global impact is made through raising shoes and resources for impoverished people in the US and around the world.
